This tor is regretably not part of the Dartmoor National Park. It sits very visibly from the B3357 in a low lying valley between Feather Tor and Kings Tor. Close inspection however reveals that the tor is fenced with barbed wire and some very prominent keep-out signs. These signs, although unsightly are stating the owners legal-right to ban all visitors. At one time this tor was famed for its' climbs but now it can only be adnmired from behind the fence. Be warned also that the low-lying land that surrounds the legal-approach to Vixen Tor is exceptionally boggy in places and that sticking to the obvious paths is recommended.
